Fat Loss Percentage Calculator
Why body fat percentage online calculators tell me I'm overweight when I'm not?
I just had a baby of four months less and now I'm looking to lose ten pounds or so gained during pregnancy. I thought the best way to keep track of my weight loss would be the box of my body measurements and body fat percentages as time passed. However, when I put in all my information, I insist calculators 32-33% fat body, I'm obese and need to lose about forty-five pounds (I have tried at least ten different.) Honestly, I was looking to lose 10-20 max. If I lost forty and five I would weigh about 90 pounds. I know I'm a little short (5'3), but I still consider myself a relatively healthy – like my doctors. So Why these calculators tell me I'm obese? Does anyone have any advice for me? Thanks guys!
Well, I would not trust some calculator in line to start. The only reliable methods DEXA, hydrosatic clamp weighing or testing with multiple sites. But even if it did happen to have 33% body fat in 135 pounds, that does not mean you need to lose 45 pounds! Women should be in the region of 21% -31% body fat. With a lean body mass of 90 pounds, this means your ideal weight would be about 115 pounds, 130 pounds. Hope this helps.
